Venture north this winter to bask in the beats under palm trees and azure skies. The festival promises an eclectic musical journey, spanning pop, hip-hop, and electronic dance music (EDM). This year, EDM enthusiasts can groove at the new 360-style stage, aptly named BASSment.

Most artists on the BASSINTHEGRASS bill are festival newcomers, ensuring a fresh and dynamic experience for attendees. The lineup, featuring artists such as Bliss N Eso, Middle Kids, and Ziggy Alberts, represents a melodic kaleidoscope catering to diverse musical tastes.

The festival is not just about the music; it’s a gateway to a Territory adventure. Festival-goers can indulge in unique tourism experiences, from plunging into enchanting waterfalls to encountering incredible wildlife. The famous Mindil Beach Sunset Markets and a vibrant CBD adorned with stunning street art further enhance the festival’s appeal. For footy fans, the adventure extends with the Gold Coast SUNS playing two AFL games in Darwin before the music extravaganza.

Delivered by the Northern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC), BASSINTHEGRASS continues to evolve under the stewardship of CEO Suzana Bishop. Celebrating its 21st year, the festival has become a national must-do, offering an affordable yet high-quality experience against the backdrop of Mindil Beach’s scenic beauty.

“The Territory’s favourite music festival has come a long way in 21 years and is well and truly a must-do on the national festival calendar. It’s also one of the most affordable festivals in Australia,” Mrs. Bishop said.

International sensations and local talents unite at BASSINTHEGRASS, creating a vibrant atmosphere that captivates both new visitors and seasoned fans. The festival is not just an auditory delight; it’s a city-wide celebration, amplified by Darwin’s two AFL games preceding the event.

Returning to the BASSINTHEGRASS stage are The Jungle Giants, who enthralled audiences in 2021. Sam Hales of The Jungle Giants expressed his excitement, stating, “(I’m) Pumped to be headed back to the NT for BASSINTHEGRASS. It’s one of my fav festivals to play. The line-up is always huge, and Darwin goes its own special kind of wild.”

Local talent Vassy, hailing from Darwin and renowned for collaborations with international DJs, including David Guetta and Tiësto, anticipates a special homecoming performance. “It gives me so much joy to come back home to perform for my hometown and to support my local community by showcasing local talent in my show line-up,” Vassy said.

For the ultimate festival experience, BASSINTHEGRASS 2024 introduces new premium packages. The Terrace offers an exclusive hosted experience on a raised platform close to the stage, Oasis provides side-of-stage views from under the trees, and ReFresh offers a retreat to beat the queues.
