Barwon Heads’ annual Barwon River Duck Race returns for Easter 2023

Rubber duckies at the ready.

Making its anticipated return for 2023, the Barwon River Duck Race is back this Easter, raising money for Ocean Grove Rotary, Barwon Heads Primary School, Barwon Heads Scouts and the Barwon Heads Association.

Taking place Saturday, April 8 2023, on Easter Saturday, ducks will make their way from the Barwon Heads pedestrian bridge to the finish line at the Ozone Jetty.

Keep up with the latest in local news and entertainment here.

A fun-filled family event, it’s just $10 per duck and anyone can enter, with the opportunity to win a whole bunch of prizes. First prize this year comes courtesy of Barwon Heads Golf Club and is a midweek golfing package for four people, plus a Magnum shiraz and $50 voucher from Barwon Heads Wine Store. Ducks that place up within the top 10 will all receive a prize.

New this year is a brand-new category for primary school-aged participants in the QUACKER KIDS BLUE ducks, featuring age appropriate prizes. The cost of these blue ducks will still be $10 but there will be only 210 blue Kids ducks so get in early. The entrants in the Quacker Kids race are not eligible for the yellow duck prizes.

All ducks will be individually numbered. All ducks will be lovingly looked after by the organisers until race day. Your duck number is the seat number on the plan.

As well as the first 10 prizes, the race also will be dishing out lucky duck prizes. These will be selected at random from all entries.

It’s for a great cause and it’s a lot of fun so go on and register your duck here. Find out more about the event here
