In a city brimming with culinary delights, one sweet secret has captured the attention of not just locals, but also some of the biggest names in the music industry. Nestled in Forestville, Sydney, Bakealicious by Gabriela is a hidden gem that has tantalised the taste buds of stars like Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles, and now it’s set to charm none other than Taylor Swift herself.

Today marks a momentous occasion for Bakealicious as they craft a bespoke creation for the pop sensation.

Keep up with the latest food and booze news here.

Gabriela Oporto, the mastermind behind the delectable treats, shares the inside scoop: “The cake we made for Tay Tay represents everything Bakealicious is about – handmade with quality ingredients – we combined Taylor’s favourites Milk Bar Store Cake and our traditional Chilean Mil Hojas and Dulce de Leche Cake. It’s finished off with puff pastry horns filled with Dulce de Leche buttercream. Then sprinkled with pastel glitters and the final touch a purple flower. (Taylor’s favourite colour).”

The “Bakealicious Eras Cake” priced at a tantalising RRP of $65 for a 6-inch delight, promises to be a feast for both the eyes and the palate.

Gabriela muses, “Whether Taylor will follow in Ed’s footsteps and order more of the same delights the next day remains to be seen. What’s certain is that our patisserie has captured the hearts and taste buds of those who truly appreciate the artistry of traditional baking, even superstars.”

For Gabriela, baking is more than just a profession – it’s a lifelong passion rooted in cherished memories and a love for sharing. Hailing from Chile, Gabriela’s journey from her family’s farm to the bustling kitchens of Sydney reflects her dedication to crafting culinary delights that evoke warmth and joy.

With a background in nutrition and food science, Gabriela infuses her creations with not just flavour, but also a sense of purpose. “Cooking is about preparing a meal with your heart and soul and sharing it with your loved ones. This love for food reflects the passion, gratefulness, and commitment to those you care about when you serve them a dish,” she shares.

Driven by her sweet tooth and a desire to spread happiness through her craft, Gabriela’s dream of owning a bakery/café has become a reality. Her commitment to minimising food waste and delivering homemade goodness to every corner of Sydney underscores her dedication to both her craft and her community.

As Taylor Swift indulges in the delights of Bakealicious by Gabriela, she joins a legion of fans – both famous and everyday – who have been enchanted by the magic of Gabriela’s creations. For those craving a taste of sweetness, Bakealicious is more than just a cake shop; it’s a testament to the joy that comes from sharing a slice of happiness with the world.
