Jonathon Ramsay – currently Principal Trombone at the Berlin Philharmonic – performs Joe Chindamo’s Ligeia. Based on the short story by Edgar Allan Poe, Chindamo explores psychological duality in this wildly virtuosic meditation on the macabre.

Based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and adapted by Stephen Sondheim, Bernstein’s score to West Side Story is hailed as one of the most brilliant achievements in musical theatre history. HIs suite of Symphonic Dances is an orchestral romp through some of the most dynamic and moving themes, including Somewhere and Maria.

You might be familiar with the movie-musical An American in Paris starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron, or perhaps you saw the production that recently swept the Tonys on Broadway. It was this orchestral work by Gershwin – written more than 20 years before the musical – that inspired Hollywood producers and prompted the development of a blockbuster.
