After a seven-year hiatus, Taste Sorrento is back until the end of June

WORDS BY STAFF WRITER

A month-long festival celebrating all that Sorrento and the Mornington Peninsula has to offer in gourmet produce, wine, bespoke spirits, craft beers, and cider.

After a seven-year hiatus Taste Sorrento is being re-imagined into a month-long festival. A winter food and beverage event celebrating and promoting all that Sorrento has to offer in gourmet food, quality produce, wine, bespoke spirits, craft beers, and cider, all showcased in Sorrento.

More than just a food and wine festival, Taste Sorrento 2023 is featuring the work of British and Australian artists Gillie and Marc – called “the most successful and prolific creators of public art in New York’s History” by the New York Times – at Curate Art & Design until June 30.

Keep up with the latest food and booze news across the region here.

The festival will also showcase an exhibition at Manyung Gallery titled Art Tapas, A Feast for the Eyes, plus artwork from renowned Australian artist Christopher Vine at his titular gallery in the region. Known for his vibrant and expressive works of art, Vine’s artistic journey has been significant, earning him international acclaim for his unique style and sophisticated palette.

There will also be exhibitions of varying styles and tastes as part of Sushi Art Train and The Toy Workshop, just to name a few.

But the main focus remains the food of course; with a High Tea on the Seas yacht-dining program, many different batch tastings, $5 feast offers, masterclasses and no shortage of culinary delights on offer.

Other highlights include Audrey’s Raw Bar Fish Filleting Masterclass with Nicholas Deligiannis, the Good Food Guide’s Young Chef of the Year; and Bistro Elba’s two course lunch with matched wine that both perfectly compliment winter by the sea.
