To commemorate this significant milestone, Little Creatures Geelong will be brewing a very special 10 Week Pilsner.
It’s been quite the journey since one of our favourite breweries first opened its door. Launching in a Fremantle shed back in 2000, it all started with a group of mates with a love for hoppy beer who wanted to brew an awesome, hop-driven American Pale Ale.
Fast forward more than a decade and in 2011 the Lion team purchased the former site of the Valley Worsted Mills in Geelong, with the plan to open a second brewery in Geelong in 2013 to keep the beer coming to the east coast (a decision which we are very thankful for).
Little Creatures has since become an iconic destination and watering hole for the Geelong community over the last ten years, coming out with the very best brews and events time and time again, and most importantly, bringing people from all walks of life together for the love of BEER.
Now, as of 16 June, they’ve reached a milestone of hitting double digits this year, celebrating 10 huge years of brewing at it’s Geelong home.

Earning a solid reputation as Geelong’s vibrant hub of craft beer, delicious food, and good times, Little Creatures has become a beloved institution for locals and visitors alike. A true brewery village experience, with a bustling Canteen, mysterious White Rabbit Barrel Hall and the colourful Mystery Lane, it’s no wonder this place has been consistently buzzing with excitement for the past decade.
As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a laid-back atmosphere and the enticing aromas wafting from the kitchen, where talented chefs work their magic to create mouthwatering dishes that perfectly complement the brews on offer. From wood-fired pizzas with creative toppings to succulent burgers and fresh seafood delights, there’s always something to satisfy every craving and tantalise your taste buds.
But of course, here it’s all about the star of the show: the beer! Little Creatures takes pride in its unique and innovative craft beers, brewed right on-site. Grab a pint of their signature Pale Ale, a refreshing and hoppy brew that has garnered a cult following. If you’re feeling adventurous, sample their limited-edition brews, which showcase their dedication to pushing the boundaries of flavor. From hoppy IPAs to smooth and malty stouts, every sip is an experience in itself.
The brewery itself is a sight to behold. Picture giant fermentation tanks, bubbling away with the alchemy of brewing, and passionate brewers meticulously tending to their craft. Take a tour and learn about the brewing process, from the sourcing of quality ingredients to the art of creating unique flavor profiles. You might even get a chance to chat with the brewers and gain some insights into their creative process.
Soaking up the ambiance indoors isn’t all to do at Little Creatures; there’s also a lively beer garden to embrace. With its spacious layout, twinkling fairy lights, and ample seating, it’s become the perfect spot to relax with friends, sip on a cold brew, and enjoy the Geelong sunshine over the past few years.
Little Creatures has truly become more than just a brewery in its ten year run, with plenty more left in the tank. It’s a gathering place, a hub of creativity, and a celebration of the good things in life. It’s where locals gather to unwind after a long day, where friends come together to share stories over a pint, and where visitors are welcomed with open arms and a friendly smile.
“Victoria – and more specifically Geelong – was a natural choice for the first major Little Creatures brewing operation outside its home state of WA, and since 2013, the local community has welcomed us with open arms,” says Geelong Brewery Director Steve Levien.
“Over the last 10 years we have been cemented our place as one of the key industries in the town, today we produce over 21 million litres of beer annually in kegs bottles and cans – and we’ve produced over 100 million litres since we started.”
To commemorate this significant milestone, Little Creatures Geelong will be brewing a very special 10 Week Pilsner. A spin on the Original Pilsner, this single malt will be brewed with the highest quality malting barley, fermented cold and slow in the open top fermenters and matured cold in tank for 10 weeks.
“Matured and secondary conditioned, cold in tank for 10 weeks, our limited run Pilsner is slightly floral & earthy with some herbal & piney characters. This beer has a complex aroma and a clean, crisp palate that’s slightly toffee sweet with a bread like softness,” Levien said.
“This 10 Week Pilsner is our way of honouring our incredible decade in Geelong, paying homage to all the fantastic beers that have come before, from our tropical and zesty mid strength Little Hazy Lager, to the beer that started it all – our Classic American Pale Ale.
“We can’t wait for locals to come down and enjoy a pint. Here’s to ten more!”
