A New Hip Hop & RnB Bar is Opening Soon in Geelong

A few weeks ago Opium Bar shut its doors for good after a long run operating at the James St venue.

Good news comes that a new late night venue will be inhibiting the space, and bringing something completely new to the Geelong nightlife scene.

Named ‘2 Chambers’ the venue is set to be a bar with DJs spinning hip hop and RnB beats from Friday to Sunday.

The bar is said to be the ‘little brother’ to 56 Bricks in Melbourne, which is run by the same owners.

Work is still underway on the Geelong space, though the bar is said to be inspired by the street art in Melbourne. Drinks will also be available, as to whether there will be a cocktail list will be as extensive as Opium is yet to be announced.

As the site jokes: “It’s like hangin’ at your mates cool basement, except the beer’s not terrible and you don’t have to hide the empties before his parents get home!”

Sounds good to us! The venue opens on September 3 and will be located at the old Opium Bar space at 15 James St, Geelong.

UPDATE: The official grand opening has been rescheduled to September 10.
