A day on the green brings The Killers to Geelong on Saturday: Here’s everything you need to know

Australia’s favourite outdoor concert event is heading back to Geelong this week with one of the biggest live bands in the world - The Killers.

Making the band’s a day on the green debut, The Killers will be performing big outdoor shows at  Mt Duneed Estate in Geelong, VIC on Saturday 10 December 2022 as part of their Imploding The Mirage Australian tour.

Originally announced in 2020 in support of their critically acclaimed ARIA #1 album Imploding The Mirage but then cancelled due to the COVID pandemic, this will be The Killers’ first time back on our shores since their 2018 Australasian tour which included ten completely sold-out arena shows. The genre-busting pop narrator Alex Cameron with his full band and Australian rock singer-songwriter, guitarist, composer Jack Ladder will be joining The Killers for the show.

Making the band’s a day on the green debut, The Killers will be performing at Mt Duneed Estate in Geelong, VIC on Saturday 10 December 2022.

Gates Open 4.00pm

Jack Ladder 6.15pm

Alex Cameron 7.35pm

The Killers 9.00pm

What To Wear/Bring

As this is an outdoor event, please ensure you wear suitable footwear and come prepared for rain or shine. At this stage the forecast temperature for Saturday is 22 degrees and sunny.

Please remember to wear sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, bring a jacket and stay hydrated throughout the day. If it does look like rain, bring good quality raincoats and appropriate footwear.

Punters are allowed to bring a cabin sized esky or cooler bag up to 26L in size, small backpacks, small picnic basket and camping chairs, and picnic rugs.

Sealed plastic clear water bottles (still or sparkling) up to 1.5 litres in size are permitted into the event. Reusable (plastic only) water bottles are permitted but they must be empty prior to entry into the event.

No umbrellas allowed, nor bean bags, deck chairs, glass or metal cutlery, alcohol, tables, tents and sunshades. View the full list here.

Getting There

A Day on the Green will take place at Mt Duneed Estate at 65 Pettavel Rd, Waurn Ponds. You must arrive & leave the venue in a vehicle. No pedestrian foot traffic will be allowed to leave this venue. If you are being picked-up, you must be collected from the drop-off and pick-up zones in the front paddock.

Limited end of night shuttle buses are running with limited stops in Geelong and Torquay. No booking required. Jump on a bus for $20pp. These services will be departing from the top of the hill bus area near the winery. Find out more about that here.

If you decide to drive, patrons are urged to allow plenty of time to get to the venue and please be prepared for some delays in entering and leaving the venue.

Parking on site is $20 and can be paid on the day or pre-booked through Ticketmaster here.

If driving, please also consider car-pooling with your friends. Parking is free with 4 or more people plus not only will you reduce event traffic, it’s also good for the environment and will reduce your carbon footprint. Accessible and mini bus parking must be pre-booked through the a day on the green website.

Punters are advised not to rely on Ubers or Taxis at the end of the night.

FREE drinking water & sunscreen stations are located around the venue.

All bars are equipped with tap-and-go card facilities and will be stocked with a great range of wines, imported and craft beers, light beer, cider, pre-mixed spirit cans, water, iced tea, soft drinks and cocktails are also available

And remember! Drink responsibly, look after your friends and stay in control. If you are intoxicated on arrival you will be refused entry to the concert so just don’t do that.
