His Funny Garden show will be making its way to Geelong and Narre Warren in Victoria.
Guy Montgommery’s right-hand man on ABC’s favourite competition Guy Montgommery’s Spelling Bee, stand-out star on Netflix hit series, FISK, beloved contestant and forward-thinker on Taskmaster Australia, Aaron Chen is always up for the challenge in comedy and acting. Thanks to his dry, deadpan humour and childlike innocence, he has won over audiences across the nation.
Now he is heading out on the road, bringing his stand-up show to live audiences. Titled the Funny Garden, Aaron Chen will be hitting up seven cities across February/March, starting in Narre Warren on Thursday 6 February and looping around Newcastle, Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Canberra, and back to Victoria for a final performance at Geelong’s Costa Hall on Sunday 2 March.

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Aaron Chen has very quickly climbed the ranks of both the Australian and international comedy scene. Since his debut solo show in 2017 he’s performed in front of sold-out crowds to rave reviews. Most recently, Chen was awarded the 2024 Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s People’s Choice Award for the most tickets sold during the festival. This nod adds to his wins of other sought-after Melbourne International Comedy Festival awards including Best Newcomer (2017), Director’s Choice (2019) and nomination for Best Show (2021).
Aaron Chen is a regular on Australia’s #1 ranking TV shows Thank God You’re Here and Have You Been Paying Attention and in addition to the aforementioned acting catalogue. His stand-up special, If It Weren’t Filmed, Nobody Would Believe was released on YouTube in September 2022 and has accumulated over 1.3 million views. Chen currently lives in New York City.
