Flex your creative muscles with two hours of watercolour play in the beautiful new Flow State cellar door in Torquay.
If you’re looking to arrange a catch-up with your nearest and dearest, but have tried all the locals bars and restaurants, why not try something new with Watercolour Social Sessions, a new style of social event for the Surf Coast where you can get your creative juices flowing.
Local artist Natalie Martin has partnered with Torquay distillery Flow State to bring a series of Watercolour Social Sessions to Torquay, a paint and sip style evening running on the last Thursday of every month.
Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here.
Launching back in April, Watercolour Social Sessions is an unstructured class, a time to play and enjoy watercolour in a social setting – all while sipping on one of Flow State’s award-winning gins!
Natalie, who works in vibrant watercolour and is particularly fond of native Australian flora and the landscape it’s found in, provides a range of illustrated templates to colour-in, a short demonstration at the beginning then the next two hours are to enjoy, paint, relax, sip, have fun with your friends and/or make new ones. No experience is necessary.
Everything is provided, including watercolour materials, a drink of your choice and light snacks, with a range of beer, wine, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages also available.

After participating in a paint-and-sip style event with her friends, Natalie was inspired to bring a similar style event, where the focus is on unwinding, social connection and fun, to the Surf Coast.
“Connecting with your creative self, spending quality time with friends, slipping the phone away, these are all things we need to do more of in our modern lives.” says Natalie.
As for the location, when Natalie stepped into Flow State’s new cellar door in Torquay’s industrial estate she knew it was the right venue – and who could blame her? The place is absolutely beautiful!
“Leigh and Shaun from Flow State have done an amazing job with their new space, not to mention their range of award-winning gins. We both loved the idea of having an event like this running on the Surf Coast, especially through the winter months.” says Natalie.
The Watercolour Social Sessions run from 6.30 – 8.30pm on the last Thursday of the month. Purchase tickets or find out more here.
