Local alt-rockers Hold//Fire release explosive second album ‘Daydreamer’

The four-piece will be celebrating the launch of their second album 'Daydreamer' at the Barwon Club Hotel in Geelong this Friday, December 16.

Colac-Otway alt-rock outfit Hold//Fire have made a triumphant return with the release of their second album, Daydreamer, packed with soaring choruses and dark melodies.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Andy Roseneath Creative, Daydreamer arrives three years after their 2019 debut album The Space In Between.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

Building on their first release, filled with emotional lyricism with touches of heavy rock and punk elements, Daydreamer sees the band hone in on their alternative rock influences, projecting a lighter, more cinematic sound, which reflects the band’s continual evolution.

Released on December 14, the album boasts undeniably nostalgic energy and comprises seven tracks that touch on new relationships, shit going south and generally stuff about being human. Melodic and emotionally charged vocals forge their way through weighty guitars and a driving rhythm section to create a unique sound that’s completely worthy of a good ol’ belted-out singalong.

Like so many others, the guys had their album celebrations cut short back in 2020, thanks to the pandemic, so with another album to their belt the band will be taking to the Barwon Club Hotel this Friday, December 16, performing cuts from their debut and sophomore album.

It goes without saying that Hold//Fire are as keen as mustard to kick back off and get these catchy little numbers into your earholes – you won’t want to miss it!

Hold//Fire will be joined on Friday by Melbourne half-grunge, half-surf-rock band Localles and Surf Coast grunge rock trio Sargent Baker. Tickets are on sale now here
