Christmas has come early in 2022 for Ocean Grove fans, with the Oddworld icons announcing today a very special hometown Christmas show on Friday 17 December at Stay Gold.

Following a huge 2022 with the release of their sophomore album Up In The Air Forever, appearances at Full Tilt and Monolith Festival, headline shows, and performances in the UK and Europe, the brand new era for the Oddworld trio is well and truly in full swing; and what better way to celebrate the band’s latest chapter, bid farewell to a massive year and get in the festive spirit than with the inaugural OG XMAS PARTY, with Ocean Grove set to be joined by special guests Bloom, TOWNS and Daddy Issues.

Of the upcoming Oddworld festivities, Ocean Grove vocalist Dale Tanner shares: “We realised no one really knows what Christmas is like in The Oddworld so we figured we’d throw a party and invite everyone along to find out!!! The inaugural “ODDWORLD XMAS” is gunna be a jolly as f**k way to cap off a wild 2022 and we can’t wait to shake the walls of Stay Gold for one last hoorah before the year is out. Bird Machine & Stress Walters Show

Get ready to fall in love with the up and coming duo band Bird Machine Luke and Jenna Grbin a pair of lovers from Geelong Australia and Hamilton New Zealand. Combining distinct musical sensibilities their songs reminisces on early 90s alt-rock and dreampop with inflections of folk wrapped up in plush pop melodies. Their jointly penned lyrics at once commentative and introspective shimmer within layered vocals above a swirling tapestry of guitars keys and syncopated beats. Their songs are written performed recorded and produced by the two in a little bedroom in the New Zealand suburbs. Today the two challenge each other’s songwriting and compositional conventions to synthesise their distinct styles.

With our final event of the year, we are heading down to Geelong, taking over one of the country’s most well sort after venues; Bloom. Heading up this amazing lineup of local talent is one of the brightest stars in the Australian techno scene; Crush3d.

Blending equal parts naughty and nice, CRUSH3d is taking the underground by storm with his unique brand of techno, house and hip-hop. From playing alongside the likes of Skin On Skin and Willaris K, CRUSH3d has moved from strength to strength since his online release ‘Welcome 2 The Party’ was met with widespread acclaim by DJs and fans alike.

With performances at festivals such as Meadow and Winter Wild, as well as sold out shows across Melbourne and Geelong, The Delusional Drunks have hit the ground running post pandemic.

As part of the Victorian tour to celebrate the release of their debut album ‘Forever Giving Handshakes’, Melbourne garage-rockers Delivery take on the Barwon Club Geelong on Friday January 13th, supported local punk royalty Vintage Crop and Alien Nosejob.

Out through Spoilsport Records, Feel It Records and Anti Fade Records, ‘Forever Giving Handshakes’ captures Delivery at full force for the first time, leaning into the fully-enhanced live sound they’ve been actively working towards since first show in March 2021 and cementing themselves as one of the hardest and fastest working bands in town. Written over the Melbourne five-piece’s two year lifespan, ‘Forever Giving Handshakes’ is something of a garage-punk opus, the group’s five distinct voices simultaneously pulling songs in different directions while an undeniable chemistry reveals a combined hive mind ascending on a clear group mission… to rock.

Delivery would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which this show takes place, and pay their respects to all elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.

Melbourne funk outfit Barefoot Spacemen travel down the highway for their debut show in Geelong. The band effortlessly fuses funk, jazz, rock and neo-soul; inspired by classic Motown and disco grooves, as well as ground-breaking modern RnB artists. This genre combination keeps punters on their toes and keeps their bodies moving with contagious rhythm, driving grooves and inviting stage presence.

Barefoot Spacemen are constantly experimenting with genres and on-stage visuals. With their debut album on the horizon, the band has found itself exploring and developing an unheard sonic soundscape for their enthusiastic fan base, and they’re finally bringing it to Geelong.
