The tour then heads to New South Wales on Wednesday 14 June playing La La La’s, Wollongong, Thursday 15 June at The Lansdowne, Sydney, Friday 16 June, The Cambridge Hotel, Newcastle, Saturday 17 June, The Northern Hotel, Byron Bay before a final show on Monday 19 June at The Brightside, Brisbane.

“This is my first Australian headline tour since 2018 and my first ever world tour. I couldn’t be more excited to get back to doing what I love with all my beautiful fans. We’re going to give it everything!”

Sarah Mcleod

Fresh from a national tour with The Superjesus to promote their new single ‘Money (We’re Only In It For Love) ‘Sarah McLeod is bringing back to the stage an updated reprise of her successful 2021 show ‘One Electric Lady’ which sees her performing with her dual output guitar. “I designed a guitar that could play bass and guitar at the same time, so when I add beats I sound like a 3 piece band”. On bigger shows and festivals she adds a drummer for more punch, on this tour she will be showcasing the more intimate stripped back versions.

In 2021 Sarah had been teaching herself piano, she felt it best to learn on the job so she hired herself as a piano player to be the support act for herself as the guitar player. The combination of Sarah’s voice with the piano proved to be a winner and by the end of the tour the piano player had become the headline act.

In 2023, the piano has been given a promotion and is now a fully-fledged part of her electric show.

Sarah will be performing beautifully broken-down versions of her solo and Superjesus back catalogue plus a few special covers.

Dead City Ruins

Five eager Australians are growing impatient: Where is the Rock? – Dead City Ruins send a “Shockwave“ our way.

Dead City Ruins are staying hungry. In 2015, the Australians sold their belongings and went all-in when it comes to Rock ’n’ Roll. Tirelessly touring the planet, the fivesome has managed to capture the hearts of its audience gig by gig – much like Rival Sons, Monster Truck, and similar trailblazers of their generation have. They also share a list of influences with these acts, namely Deep Purple, Guns N’ Roses, Zeppelin. Their goal: bring Rock ’n ’ Roll back to the people. What these guys make on the road, they re-invest into their rough living conditions as well as their upcoming album. Now, “Shockwave“ is finally ready and marks the band’s fourth record. For that to happen, everything had to change!

There’s Steve Welsh, for example, as the newly appointed microphone man. „Steve is out there giving our typical sound a fresh new edge, which is pretty exciting“, guitarist Sean Blanchard muses. Welsh himself elaborates: „These guys have given me the warmest welcome; I couldn’t have wished for better bandmates. They took me in and let me be part of something they had been building for such a long time, all the while giving me everything I need.“

New lead singer, new producer
Before that, Welsh was mostly active on YouTube, where he dedicated himself to imitating a plethora of singers. There’s one clip of him singing the twelve songs from Alice In Chains’ “Dirt“ in twelve different styles; ranging from James Hetfield (Metallica) to Ronnie James Dio. „I started doing these because I was just as interested in the music as I was in creating videos. On YouTube, I was able to realize my ideas while gaining notoriety.“

But there’s more revolution to this album: “Shockwave“ saw US-producer Gene Freeman aka Machine take over the mixing desk after having worked with the likes of Lamb Of God, Clutch, and Crobot. „That was a lot of fun,“ guitarist Blanchard reminisces. „We spent a full week doing pre-production. Once we had the demos down and knew where we wanted it to go, Machine picked everything apart and put it back together while keeping our ideas intact. There were a few intense moments, but when it comes to pushing the band and turning the songs into the best versions of themselves, no one does a better job.“ And it shows.

Rabid for Rock ’n’ roll
Whether it’s a rhythmic monster like “Preacher“, a straight-up Rock-fest like “Speed Machine“, a potential festival-anthem like “Dog on a Leash“, or heavier stuff like “Vision“: Shockwave“ proves that Dead City Ruins don’t just have a penchant for songwriting, but also arrangements and the right energy. There’s no doubt that these Australians absolutely LIVE Rock ’n’ Roll and that “Shockwave“ will open plenty of doors. At least that’s what Tommy Cain sees in the band’s future after the pandemic: „We want to tour as soon as we possibly can. When the world re-opens, we will be there to give the best Rock ’n ’Roll show that Europe has seen since the lockdown and you better believe it! The determination we have for our fans and music has never been so bold. The situation might have live music by the throat, but we will overcome it and live as we once rocked!” “Shockwave“ is out MONTH September 2023 via AFM Records.

Drowning Houdini

With winter only just around the next greasy asphalt corner, Drowning Houdini plan to drift it without losing maximum speed;
The cops are right up their clacker!
Join the fearsome trio for their inaugural single launch ‘Cop Magnet’
plus apparently there’s also a mysterious, tobacco-stained B-side?
What more could you ask for?
Well luckily that isn’t rhetorical, because joining them for the G-force ride are the whimsical, funk-laced Ballroom bomb triggers Better Than Sex.
Not to mention the high velocity, revitilised classic punk torque that is always provided by faithful compadres PCGs.
Attend the warmth of Sooki Lounge and save yourself from the cold hand of the law, but remember, instruments are deadly weapons.

These shows promise an intimate and personal experience with one of Australia’s most renowned frontmen, as he explores the softer and darker aspects of himself. With his soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics, Clint is sure to captivate audiences across Australia during this upcoming tour.

Tim Freedman

Tim Freedman strips back his Whitlams repertoire and delivers classics like “No Aphrodisiac” and “You Sound Like Louis Burdett” from the piano, with help from acclaimed pedal steel and guitarist Ollie Thorpe, in what they call The Black Stump Duo. They have toured together nationally in the Whitlams’ alt-country offshoot, The Whitlams Black Stump Band, and their singles “The Day John Sattler Broke His Jaw” and “Blow Up the Pokies” have been staples on Australian Country radio over the past year. The new single due February 2023 is Freedman’s bushranger classic “Kate Kelly” performed in a duet with Felicity Urquhart.

The Daily Telegraph wrote of a recent solo show at Sydney’s  City Recital Hall, “The tall and gangly front man charmed and cajoled his 600-strong audience with all the debonair flair of a Bryan Ferry….The stripped back accompaniment of the piano highlighted just how cleverly constructed his lyrics are – they sound so uncontrived, which is hellish difficult to do as any would-be songwriter will tell you.” (Steve Moffatt)

Ocie Elliott ‘Australia and New Zealand Tour’

Ocie Elliott is musical duo Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy from Victoria, B.C., Canada. The two have come a long way in a short time since a chance encounter in a Salt Spring Island café led to a spark, collaboration, and their ultimate partnership in music and beyond. Ocie has been busy, releasing both an EP and their debut full-length album We Fall In (Nettwerk Music Group), touring Canada, US, and Europe and having their song “Run To You” featured on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy.

In the challenging internet age of streaming music, Sierra and Jon have cultivated a fast-growing following by releasing a captivating series of live acoustic videos on Facebook recorded in the cozy confines of the couple’s Honda CR-V (which, Sierra explains, offers “organically well-rounded and self-contained” acoustics which lend an intimacy to their intricate harmonies). The novel approach has paid off, with a million streams of their most popular tracks on Spotify and Apple Music, as well as sold-out shows.

With gentle acoustic chords layered over gorgeously complementary voices, which intertwine in gentle harmonies, Sierra and Jon’s beautifully written songs explore, of all things, love and connection. The duo has been aptly described by one reviewer as “…the aural equivalent of indigo painted skies and the first summer stars.”
