Hip-hop newcomer Mr. Big Stuff has dropped his debut single ‘I Need Space’, featuring Melbourne electronic duo Strange Talk.
Mr. Big Stuff showcases his rehearsed rap flow on this track, finding a way to let each line lead seamlessly to the next. A fusion of hip-hop and pop, the chorus of ‘I Need Space’ created by Strange Talk really brings the single together. This comes as a bright change from the fast-paced flow, and you’ll find yourself with the hook stuck in the back of your head for hours to come.
It’s hard to say whether the lyricism or delivery is more impressive. Inspired by a break up close to himself, this acted an output for his emotions.
“I Need Space was inspired by a break up close to my family. I was at the studio writing and I got a call from one of the people involved in the break up” explained Mr Big Stuff. “We got talking and as I was holding back tears, they said to me I just need my space. I was in a bit of a sad mood, not knowing what to do – so I walked back into the studio, and 5 minutes later I Need Space was born.”
