Nominations are now open for The 2018 Geelong Small Business Awards

Awards season isn’t all about ARIA’s, Logies and Grammys. Business awards recognising the incredible achievements of those locally is just as important, if not more so, than who took away best actress.

With Geelong having its fair share of hits in big business from the likes of Ford, Target and Alcoa, it’s the small businesses in Geelong that are banding together, growing the economy and employing people. There are also many small businesses that may not have a huge audience reach of awareness, but are doing extraordinary things in and for Geelong, that we want to recognise.

That’s why some of Geelong’s talented individuals created The Geelong Small Business Awards, a unique program within the award arena, solely focusing on micro to small businesses.

These awards aren’t like any others. These don’t look at financials as a measurement of success; they look at things like contribution to the community, innovation and collaboration.

With Geelong home to some of the most creative, innovative and thriving small businesses, it’s time to recognise where due, this time focusing on the little guys that are shaping our culture and community.

The 2018 nominations are now open. You can nominate your own business or a business you love, by filling out the form online. You or the business owner that you have nominated will then be sent an email with the link to complete the awards application form, which will be open right up until January 26 next year.

Panel judged categories include Geelong Small Business, Emerging Business, Rising Star, Beauty, Creative and Innovation, among others, while peer voted categories include the likes of Food & Beverage, Events and Professional Service. The awards ceremony will be held next March.
