Celebrate Malop Street’s redevelopment

The completion of the first stage of the Green Spine project is being celebrated with free coffee, giveaways from selected businesses along Malop Street and a fashion installation by students from The Gordon.

The Revitalising Central Geelong partnership team, made up of the Victorian Government and the City of Greater Geelong, is hosting this milestone event to celebrate the completion of the Green Spine construction works on the south side of Malop Street between Moorabool and Yarra Streets.

The free event will be hosted on Monday 11 December 2017 at 10:00am – 12pm to showcase the newly completed eight-metre wide ‘botanic walk’ on the south side of the street.

The upgraded vibrant street and linear park will be bought to life by live artwork installations by The Gordon’s Diploma of Screen and Media students (Specialist Makeup), who will be styling and modelling the latest fashions from the street’s businesses.

There will be discounts, vouchers and sales from businesses along the Green Spine for those attending during the period of the event. There will also be free coffee vouchers for both Rook Sri Lankan Fusion and Tomi Lounge between 10am – 12pm.

The project has transformed Malop Street into a unique shopping and dining destination.

The construction works were scheduled to be complete in time for the busy Christmas shopping period.
