It may still be six months away but organisers of Yours & Owls have been busying themselves getting plans in place for the festivals return in 2021, today announcing their wildly-diverse line-up that will take to the green, green grass of Stuart Park for the seventh year.
In a regular lifetime, we’d be finalising our travel plans and spinning our Yours & Owls hype playlists on repeat ahead of the regular October long weekend… But we’re living in the time of global pandemic. So instead Yours & Owls Festival – who have cemented their place as a ‘must-attend’ event on the national festival calendar – have decided to move their dates to January 23 and 24 next year to allow a more realistic chance of the festival going ahead, and they’ve got a damn fine lineup in store to celebrate the impending 2021 summer.
With no clear path defined for the opening of international borders to overseas artists, Yours & Owls have curated an abundant medley of Australia and New Zealand’s finest. Leading the local-only lineup is one woman, history-making stat collecting, global phenomenon hit machine Tones And I; 19-year-old indie-pop sensation BENEE; Sydney’s favourite Inner West twins Cosmo’s Midnight; Windang’s favourite descendants Hockey Dad; Aussie rock trio DMA’S; multi-platinum selling, ARIA award-winning electronic gods PNAU and the globally-dominating electro-pop powerhouse Hayden James.
The list of homegrown heroes doesn’t stop there. The festival will also see steamy sets from the likes of Lime Cordiale, Running Touch, What So Not, Winston Surfshirt, The Smith Street Band, Slowly Slowly, Children Collide, Stand Atlantic, The Vanns, Haiku Hands, B Wise, Clowns, among many others.
They’ve definitely come out swinging for the postponed festival and we’re here for it.
While we wait, the Yours & Owls crew will be working with local health advisors right up until gates open to ensure the festival is operating within whatever parameters are needed come Jan 2021.
