You ripper, live music returns to The Barwon Club

The BC is back baby!

Established since 1990, The Barwon Club Hotel has proved to be Geelong’s leading venue for live bands. They were at the crux of the Geelong ’90s rock scene, and they’ve gone from strength to strength ever since, providing G-town with a steady flow of live bands, cold beer and wild stories.

A venue hailed for being the best, taking out the title for best Best Regional/Outer Suburban Venue with over 50 gigs per year at the Victorian Music Victoria Awards this year, the Barwon Club Hotel are jumping back on the gig train following a long few months and an empty bandroom.

Kicking it off with Bob Log III with support from Victa Two Stroke (Mick Simpson of Grindhouse), on Friday December 4, the BC will be running two shows, with an early show at 6pm and a later show at 9pm.

For the uninitiated, Bob Log III is an American, slide guitar, one-man-band. During performances, he plays old silvertone archtop guitars, wears a full body cannonball man suit, and a helmet wired to a telephone which allows him to devote his hands and feet to guitar and drums. The spectacle has been described as a guitar dance party, full of sweaty smiles, jumps and kicks.

The next night will see the rescheduled gig with Von Stache with support from Detach Me & Candour, who will be delivering a ripping night of party punk with all the feels.

This gig just has the one show, with doors at 8pm.

There are only limited pre-sale seated tickets sold per show at the BC, and tickets are $20 each via Oztix only. Group tickets can be purchased with a requested 4-6 people per table.

In line with the current regulations, 1.5m social distancing will apply within the venue, hand sanitising stations will be set up around the band room, and full names and phone numbers of all patrons must be logged upon entry.

They say the early bird catches the worm, but in this case the venue has requested punters do not arrive earlier than door times. You can purchase tickets via the website.

Giddy up!
