Wonderland Scarehouse Project: Escape the Real World

Australia’s most in-demand producer and DJ Alison Wonderland has collaborated with Microsoft as part of their ongoing Music x Technology series which sees Wonderland produce jaw-dropping, dynamic visuals, inspired by spiritual iconography and elements of high fantasy, that she and her VJ are able to control in real-time from stage. This epic collaboration will all be a key part of her homecoming tour next month as part of the WonderlandScarehouseProject.

A mesmerising performer equally at home behind the decks in raucous warehouse parties and center stage headlining international festivals, Wonderland will be running amok through never-before-used outdoor amphitheatres, barns and warehouses across the East Coast for the WonderlandScarehouseProject which promises to be an experience like nothing you’ve ever witnessed.

Splattered across creepy empty fields, WonderlandScarehouseProject will feature a massive collection of international and local artists, hand-picked by Wonderland herself. This new project comes off the back of Wonderlands hugely successful WonderlandWarehouseProject, which has completed two sold out laps of the country since 2014.

There’s just one thing… the location is a secret! Only accessible by phantom bus, you’ll need to move off the grid to get down with Wonderland for this one. The one clue being, the destination is “near Melbourne”. To make it even more exciting, the artists on the lineup don’t even know.

“I actually don’t know anything about it,” reveals young Brisbane rapper Carmouflage Rose who is one of the artists on the bill. “I just know that on the day I’m going to get picked up, and get taken somewhere and I’m going to perform, that’s all I know,” he laughs. “Even for the artists that are performing we don’t even know that much, that’s the crazy fun bit. You would think there would be an inside loop hole, but we don’t even have an inside, we are just going with it.”

The playful Queensland artist, who arrived in Australia a few years ago as a Zimbabwean refugee and has since created a new image to Australian hip-hop, channelling some of America’s biggest names with a sultry, hip-hop sound, will be taking to the stage alongside acts such as A$AP Ferg, Anthony & Cleopatra, Brownies & Lemonade, Haiku Hands, Kinder DJs, Lido, Manu Crooks, Young Franco – just to name a few.

“I’m looking forward to seeing A$AP Ferg and Alison Wonderland. It’s really cool just to be part of it all with them and everyone on the bill, I’m going to love that.”

Forget noise complaints. Silence the neighbours. Lynch the lockouts. There are no rules any more… And inside this chaos we will find our calm. It’s all going down at a secret farm location near Melbourne on Saturday December 2.
