Women supporting women: MANE shares five female artists you need to know

In celebration of the release of MANE's brand new EP, Coping Mechanisms.

Yeah the girls!

Female solo artists have made their mark on the music industry in recent times and have become some of the most successful to date. Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga… these women have shaken the world and sold millions of albums.

On the home front, the ladies are also leading the charge – Tones & I, Courtney Barnett, Sampa The Great, Thelma Plum, Angie McMahon… the list goes on.

One more artist who is forcing us to take a step back and reel in awe at the prevalence of magnificent Australian female artists is Adelaide muso MANE who has just dropped her stunning new EP Coping Mechanisms following a strong two years cementing her place in the Aussie indie music scene.

A record written to heal, grow and ultimately start anew with, the EP is more than a new chapter for MANE. It is a reflective collection of music that shows her ability to become inspired and creative again after navigating some heavy times outside of music. As such, Coping Mechanisms is just that; an exploration of how to come out the other side with the potential to be stronger than before.

To celebrate the remarkable EP, and to further bask in the success of women in the music industry, MANE has shared her top five female artists right now.

Mia Wray

I fell in love with her single ‘Work For Me’ and I can not wait to hear more. I think it will be a huuuuge year for her.

Samia

Discovered Samia early this year and absolutely adore her song Big Wheel. Her voice is stunning.

Tia Gostelow

I love Tia, I had the most wholesome tour with her at the start of 2019 and her new album chrysalis is beaut.

BENEE

Big fan of BENNE since her track find an island. Her voice and pop production is unique and inspiring to me as an artist.

WASHINGTON

I just think everything Megan Washington does is full of class and incredibly thought out and I admire and respect that very much.
