Winter Shiraz Festival kicks off today at wineries across the region

The Moorabool Valley, Bellarine and the Surf Coast are going red this weekend, celebrating Winter Shiraz Festival.

Annual wine event, Winter Shiraz Festival kicks off today across Geelong, celebrating the best of shiraz across our award-winning wine region.

Running this weekend from Friday 2 August until Sunday 4 August, Winter Shiraz 2024 is a three day festival of wine, food and entertainment with participating wineries running diverse programs of both free and ticketed events.

Sip, explore and discover the world-class Shiraz of Geelong this weekend with a huge program of food and wine experiences, gourmet produce, local music, wine masterclasses and meet the maker sessions.

Here’s a guide to the events happening across the three day Winter Shiraz festival.

Tasting Experiences

Want to develop your wine palette? A tasting experience is for you! Run through the selection of wines and blends offered by each winery, discussing flavours and aromas along the way. Whether your a wine novice or an aficionado, a Tasting Experience is ideal to broaden your understanding of shiraz.

Meet The Maker/ Masterclass

Want to know the brains behind the blend? A Meet The Maker session is a chance to get to know the winermakers, ask your burning questions and discover the story behind the wine. In addition, Masterclasses are are great way to develop your wine knowledge and distinguish your palette.

Live Music

Adding to the atmosphere of the Winter Shiraz Festival is the inclusion of live music within the walls of the wineries. Be serenaded as you sip on your red by local acoustic musicians and entertainment.

Lunch and Dinner

It would be completely remiss to head to the gorgeous wineries and not have a nibble. Pairing perfectly with the rich shiraz selections are lunch and dinner specials. From cheese boards to pairings, the food is a must!
