The funniest time of the year is nearly back upon us and we're gifting one lucky reader an epic night out to celebrate.

There’s not a lot that can beat nearly a whole month of belly-aching laughter, especially when it’s the third-largest international comedy festival in the world.

That’s right, the beloved Melbourne International Comedy Festival, held in March/April every year, returns next week.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here

Running from March 30 to April 24 this year, the beloved comedy extravaganza is an unmissable event, taking flight through a host of internationals, newcomers, local talent and staple events such as The Gala, Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow, The Great Debate, Upfront, The (Very) Big Laugh Out and Comedy Club for Kids.

Now with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival just around the corner, we’ve got a cracker of a giveaway worth more than $300 that we’re super happy to be able to pass on to one of our rad readers.

Prepare your stomach muscles comedy lovers, you could win:

  • 2 x tickets to The Comedy Zone, Friday 15 April at 9pm at Trades Hall
  • 2 x tickets to The Festival Club, Friday 15 April at 11:15pm at Max Watt’s, and
  • 1 x night accommodation for two people on Friday 15 April at the Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne

Whether you’re in need of something to impress that special someone in your life, you’re wanting to take your bestie out for a night, or you just want to treat your mum to comedy and a night in the city, this is the ticket.

You’ll kick off your evening with electrifying sets and limitless laughs from the next (synth) wave of Aussie comedy stars at The Comedy Zone. This beloved annual event brings together five of Australia’s rising stand-up stars for an hour of quality humour, coordinated and produced by the folks at Melbourne International Comedy Festival HQ. Not only are you scoring five tickets for the price of one (or in the winner’s case, none), but you’ll be witnessing the comics of the future. From RAW Comedy National Champion Prue Blake, to a Deadly Funny National Finalist and fabulous drag queen Jay Wymarra, this is perfect for those wanting a taste of the cramping laughter to come.

Next, you’ll make your way to live music venue Max Watts for a Comedy Bonanza and Lip Sync Battle with The Festival Club, where the Festival’s biggest names line up and let loose! Essentially, it’s a late-night comedy that’s unscripted, unhinged and possibly X-rated, followed by epic battles from the best lip-syncing (and best costumed) comics in the biz, hosted by lip-syncer extraordinaire, Rhys Nicholson.

Once you’ve finished immersing yourself in the city’s famed laneways and historic arcades or checking out the newest rooftop bar after the show, head back to your room at the Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne, located just an eight-minute walk from Max Watts.

Located on Flinders Street overlooking the Yarra River, Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne is one of Australia’s finest heritage listed hotels. Distinguished by elegance, historic significance and traditional luxury, here you’ll get to indulge in a beautiful room designed in a contemporary style, whilst exuding old-world charm with bespoke furnishings. Plus, it’s just a three-minute walk from Flinders Street Station so transport will be the least of your worries.

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay during your Festival visit, definitely check this hotel out.

Keen to go? Of course, you are!

All you need to do is fill in the form below to be in the running. You’ve got to be in it to win it.
