Will hyde dives into his childhood inspirations following the release of ‘easy for u’

Melbourne based artist will hyde has burst onto the low-fi pop scene with single ‘easy for u’.

Championed by crisp production, gorgeous vocals and lyrical authenticity on par with stars like Dominic Fike and Rex Orange County, this track is a bright and stunning glimpse into the bright future of this young talent.

It’s an addictively melodic, catchy pop hit that hits you right in the feels, telling a story about giving more in a relationship than you’re getting back.

“It’s reaching a point of awareness where you can finally see how you really stand with another person – awareness I think is the most important thing when it comes to anything… life, relationships, friendships,” Will explains. “I wanted to write a song about reaching that point of clarity, it doesn’t mean anything has to change, I find that realisation powerful. Sometimes we run into things that we don’t know how to deal with so we mask it with alcohol, pills–anything we can do to try and run away from the past. It’s tough to be a part of a relationship where you are slowly watching a person fade, or losing a part of yourself, because of it.”

To celebrate the honest and captivating track, Will talks us through five of the people who inspired him from a young age.

My mother and my father.
My parents have always inspired me. I remember my dad getting home really late from work every night (around 9pm or something) and I think that is where I get my work ethic from. He just is really passionate about what he does and I have always admired that. My mumma has always taught me how to be kind to others. She really cares for people and that is something that inspired me/still inspires me to this day.

My brother.
He got me into music in the first place. Playing sport wasn’t working out for me (I was like 5”1 trying to make it to the NBA and soon other kids starting growing. He has always been someone I have looked up to and followed. We’ve always been really close and he has been a big part of my life. I’ve shared my darkest moments with him before anyone when I was younger. Love u bro.

Kobe Bryant.
Rest in peace. What an amazing human. He inspired me with his shoe designs (you already know I had to get every pair!!!). His work ethic inspired me, his influence. He is someone I looked up to for sure. I watched him all the time in my lounge room with my pyjama’s on. Those were comfy pyjama’s actually. Again thoughts go out to his family, what happened was so sad.

Michael Nolan.
I think that was his name, he was my basketball coach when I was 12. I remember he was so dope. I loved him so much and was always inspired when I was around him. It’s cool that I can remember him after all these years, I wonder how he’s doing actually?

Theo, Sky, Jett & Gavin.
My management team, I’ve known them for like six years. They have always placed my best interests at heart and have helped me see my vision before I knew how. They have always helped me when I’ve been struggling mentally and have shaped who I am today as a human/musician, without a doubt. Love u peeps with my heart.
