White Night Comes to Ballarat

It’s a nice day for a, White Night. You may well have heard the exciting news by now, but it most certainly bears repeating. Next year, Ballarat will join Melbourne in White Night celebrations. It will be the first time a rural city has been included in the 24 hour multi media arts party.

City of Ballarat Mayor, Cr Des Hudson: “White Night is a spectacular kaleidoscope of colour and movement, and from dusk until dawn Ballarat will be seen and heard as never before. This renowned event is a priceless opportunity to showcase Ballarat’s beautiful heritage streetscape to the world.”

Ballarat’s Minister for Tourism and Major Events, John Eren, is equally as buoyant: “Ballarat is a wonderful regional centre with a superb streetscape. What better location for the first ever regional White Night? This event will attract visitors from all over Victoria and Australia, and that’s great for the local economy… It takes abundant talent to deliver an event as spectacular as White Night, and we’re in great hands with David Atkins and his team.”

White Night Ballarat has been locked in for March 4, 2017. White Night Melbourne, which attracted some 580,000 visitors in 2016, will take place on February 18.
