Cafe GO!
Serving delicious food every week day 7 ’til 4 (and from 8am Saturday), Cafe GO! are a favourite amongst the crew at Forte, and they’ve got a decent brekky menu sure to get the taste buds dancing feverishly! One item in particular though has landed them on this list, and that’s their Big Breakfast. This one will have you munching on eggs, bacon, avocado, spinach and housemade relish on a delicious Noisette sourdough. Best part is it will only set you back $23.

A newie but a goodie! Serving up exceptional St Ali coffee daily from 7am, Blank Space has a fierce menu providing flavoursome and fresh dishes, supporting local suppliers, and featuring many sweet, savoury, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. Alongside their bagels (which are SO GOOD), it’s the B.S Breakfast that has caught our eye. You get eggs your way on sourdough toast, bacon, roast tomato, mushrooms, avocado, goats cheese and a potato rosti… all for $23. There’s even vegetarian and Gluten Free options available. Word is it goes exceptionally well when teamed with their Bloody Mary. Yum!

Winters Café
Located at the river end of Pako, Winters has become a mainstay in the Geelong brekky scene.
While we’re living for their soft-centered black forest hotcakes, it’s their Big Breakfast that has truly stolen our hearts and filled our stomachs. For an easy $24, you get two eggs (cooked any way you please) on sourdough with bacon, chorizo, spinach, mushrooms, rosti and grilled tomatoes. If you prefer a vegetarian brekky, they have you covered there too. For the same price, you get your two eggs (cooked any way you please) on sourdough with spinach, mushrooms, tomato, rosti, avocado and grilled pumpkin!

With three locations, 9 Grams is favourite amongst locals for their tasty coffee, all-day breakfast and mouth-watering desserts. We’re all about a big brekky though and definitely deliver on that front. Coined the ‘9 Big Brekky’, you get poached eggs, bacon, sauteed spinach, onion, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms and a hashbrown on toasted sourdough. This one will only set you back $23 as well so no need to skimp on the accompanying coffee. If you feel like mixing it up, they’ve also got a ‘9 Tasting Board’, which features housemade granola, toast, smashed avocado, meredith goats cheese, tomato, corn fritter, Boston beans, poached eggs with borani labne AND fresh orange juice – all for just $23.50.

Rajs On Pako
If you love bacon like a child, thoroughly enjoy massive, greasy breakfasts and want to pay for it with what you dug out of the couch cushions, this is your place. A Geelong institution known for providing the best hangover cures in the world, Raj’s breakfasts are not for the faint hearted. It’s pretty simple: you get your eggs, toast, tomato, hashbrown, on a plate literally surrounded by delicious pieces of bacon. The serving sizes are renowned for being huge, and it’s cheap, so very cheap. You even get a free juice with every meal!

The Village Door Café
If you’re really battling some breakfast cravings, and you think you can handle the ULTIMATE brekky, The Village Door Café have you covered with their breakfast platter. Perfect for a breakfast date for two or one very hungry person, the ‘Ultimate Breakfast Platter’ boasts eggs your way, bacon, krajnski sausage, ćevapi, mushroom, tomato, beans, hash browns and dutch pancakes, with your choice of toppings. Honestly, we’d eat this every day if we could.
The Village Door Cafe is located at 156 Pakington Street, Geelong West.
Pond Cafe
Located just opposite the beach down in Torquay, this little gem is an ideal way to start the day. If you’re keen to fill your belly before a day exploring the best of the Surf Coast, we recommend you indulge with the ‘Full Pond’. Here you get bacon, cheese kransky, avocado, roasted mushroom, poached eggs, Meredith goats cheese, and tomato kasundi, all on 10 grain toast. Are you drooling like we are just thinking about this? You can nab this one for just $24.50.
Pond Cafe is located at 39 The Esplanade, Torquay.
King of the Castle
King of the Castle is where to go most weekends for sipping coffee, soaking in the good vibes and chowing down the EPIC big breakfast. Aptly named the ‘Kings Breakfast’, this one has two poached eggs, local bacon, BBQ beans, crispy potato hash, garlic roasted mushroom, grilled chorizo, and tomato relish, all on sourdough toast for an easy $24. For those you want a big feed, minus the meat, there’s also the EPIC Vegan breakfast which is just as good, if not better. This one has potato hash, garlic roasted mushroom, avocado, pickles, sweet potato hummus, and roasted winter greens on sourdough. If you’re looking for something big and bursting with flavour, we would definitely recommend this place for your next weekend brunch spot.
King of the Castle is located at 24 Pakington Street, Geelong West.
Newfolk Café
With hand-painted stools, a deep blue feature wall, indoor plants and stunning pendants, Newfolk sports a casual and mellow neighbourhood vibe, and one that all of Newtown know and love. It’s not just the happy vibes and the friendly barista’s perfectly steamed milk that has the locals coming back time and time again, it’s also the delicious big brekky! The secret here is that it’s not actually on the menu, you’ll have to let the chef know that we sent you! You get eggs your way on toast, with bacon, avocado, mushrooms, hashbrown, greens, tomato and housebaked beans (depending on what’s in season of course). It would be a great loss not to indulge in this magnificent brekky sometime soon.
