What to do this long weekend if you haven’t got a clue

It always seems to be the case that long weekends come up sooner than you can make plans for them – and if you’ve missed the memo, this weekend is of the three-day variety.

Not one’s to put three days off to waste, we’ve picked a few events happening around town to make the most of it. No need to worry about the Monday hangovers!

The Inn Hotel’s Car Park Party

The Inn Hotel is back with another car park party, boasting special guest and triple j radio presenter Linda Marigliano to get the party going. With a huge list of DJs, a bigger dance floor then ever before and its doors opening from 3pm, The Inn Hotel will be pumping until late.

Nelly Night at 2 Chambers

This Labour Day Eve, the extremely popular RnB club 2 Chambers are layin’ down some sweet Nelly tracks for you all night long. Celebrating the great man’s hits and backtracks, as well as all your faves from the noughties, head on down from 8pm to hit the floor and spend your long weekend partying the right way!

The theme is ‘Snapbacks and Bandaids’, and they don’t close until 3am, so plenty of time to grab the Kelly Rowland in your life and get down to 2 Chambers this Sunday 12th March.

Stop by Pistol Pete’s

The home of jazz, blues and killer Southern American inspired food, Pistol Pete’s can easily become your home this long weekend. Set for three days of great music, you can catch Stringybark McDowell on Friday night, Benny James and the Blue Flames on Saturday night and White Lightning on Sunday night.

UNO dance club – all weekend

Backing it up with a Saturday and Sunday event, there’s no real reason to ever leave this popular club – except, you know, making space for the cleaners and lunchtime diners. Psalms (Ministry of Sound) will be heading to the club on the Saturday night and Sunday’s celebrations feature CC:DISCO! and free watermelon (no, seriously). Get around it.

Homehouse

Mainstays in the Geelong club scene, Homehouse will be celebrating the long weekend they know how – with late nights and a serious line up. Celebrating the Long Weekend, the club will see the likes of Johnny Canik, Holmes John, Sunshine, DJ Shook and more across the Saturday and Sunday nights.

Barwon Club’s 5 Buck Sundays

The Barwon Club is at it again with their infamous 5 buck Sundays, however this week is a lil’ different. The Barn will be hosting a party to celebrate the long weekend, with hip hop and RnB tunes from your fave DJs PCPS and Pinky, and a cover band in the Front Bar.
