Watch Melbourne punk exports Amyl and The Sniffers make US TV debut on ‘Seth Meyers’

Next stop, world domination.

In what could be described as one of the biggest game-changing moments in the history of Australian punk rock, Melbourne’s explosive retro-punk rockers Amyl and the Sniffers have made their US television debut with an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, delivering a defiant rendition of their song ‘Hertz’.

‘Hertz’ is lifted from the band’s second studio album, last year’s Comfort To Me.

Watch Amyl and the Sniffers performing ‘Hertz’ on Seth Meyers below:

Since 2016 Amyl and the sniffers have been a snarling, dirt-covered gem of the Melbourne punk-rock scene. They sport a raw, 70’s style in sound, dress, and attitude, and their records demand being played at max volume, which barely compares to their blistering live performance, which sees Amy consistently delivers maniacal, lewd energy as she careens around the stage between her mulleted companions.

Last year the band celebrated the release of their already-acclaimed second album Comfort To Me, which was co-produced by the band and Dan Luscombe. Signalling a major gear shift for the hell-raising Australian punks, this was the follow-up to Amyl & the Sniffers’ critically acclaimed 2019 self-titled debut album, which won an ARIA Award for Best Rock Album and saw the band tour their anarchic and ridiculously fun live show internationally for the past two years.

Renowned for their ball-tearing live show, Amyl and The Sniffers – rounded out by guitarist Dec Martens, bassist Gus Romer and drummer Bryce Wilson – has gone from strength to strength in recent years, going from Melbourne dive bars to US television screens, bringing along their raw self-expression, defiant energy, and unapologetic vulnerability.

Fresh from supporting the Foo Fighters in Geelong back in March, the band are currently in the midst of a North American tour that includes appearances at Coachella and headline shows in Texas, Atlanta, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Toronto, New York and more.

Keep up with all their shenanigans here
