Remember when someone made Warrnambool’s Bunnings a TripAdvisor page for its legendary snags

The year was 2017 that the world was made right and Bunnings snags made the list.

We’ve all done it. We’ve all rated some food joint on TripAdvisor – whether you loved it or you hated it, it becomes a vital resource for others and where they choose to eat and spend their hard earned cash.

And three years ago, someone made a Tripadvisor page for the sausage sizzle at Bunnings in the rural Victorian town of Warrnambool. And it has been kickin’ all kinds of ass compared to its geographical culinary competitors ever since.

The ‘Bunnings Restaurant’ has so far attracted 94 reviews, which puts it as the 16th-highest rated eatery in the Warrnambool area. And that’s not a short list either. That’s 16th out of 94.

With a 4.5 overall rating, the current distribution of opinion sits at 78 who rightly agree the sizzle is “excellent.” While the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive by and large, there’s still the occasional dissatisfied customer fussing o’er some minor detail or other.

The Bunnings sausage sizzle has become somewhat of a cultural staple for many Australians, regardless of where you’re located, and its temporary cancellation back in March truly signalled how bad the coronavirus situation is. With restrictions easing across Australia, some places were lucky enough to see the return of the iconic sizzle, however in Victoria, we unfortunately still waiting for that day to arrive.

Until then, you’ll just have to embrace nostalgia and read the reviews for Warrnambool’s famed sausage online here for some afternoon laughs.

The Warrnambool Bunnings Warehouse is located at the corner of Raglan Parade and Horne Road in the heart of Warrnambool.
