Opening this Saturday, Warrnambool Art Gallery welcomes pioneering and ground-breaking New York artist Claudia Gold with CLAW MONEY WORLD.
From the concrete building facades of New York’s gridded streets to the walls of Warrnambool Art Gallery (WAG) comes CLAW MONEY WORLD.
In a vibrant and powerful exhibition, Claudia Gold better known as Claw Money brings her signature street artist styles to the coastal town of Warrnambool in an Australian premiere. Opening this weekend on Saturday 16 November, the artists decorated disciplines of art in graffiti, fashion and design will be on showcase with CLAW MONEY WORLD taking viewers into a New York state of mind.

This world-first, Australian exclusive CLAW MONEY WORLD exhibition transports viewers into the heart of New York’s graffiti scene through the eyes of Claudia Gold as a retrospective exhibition of her ground-breaking work from 1990’s until present day. Gold is renowned for her signature graffiti marks and has embedded the street culture of New York into her art through fashion, design and mural work, becoming a global icon.
With her claw paw posing as a powerful street stamp, Gold has gained international notoriety through her iconic collaborations with major brands including Nike, Vans, UGG Australia, My Little Pony and Mountain Dew. Her eponymous fashion label has attracted high-profile celebrity followers including Kanye West, M.I.A, Amy Winehouse, Rhianna and Kendrick Lamar, for its contemporary blend of streetwear and couture.
Warrnambool Art Gallery unpack the breadth of Gold’s cultural carving through the CLAW MONEY WORLD exhibition displays whilst also delivering an intimate program of workshops and mural creations as led by the talent herself. Key sites in Victoria will be decorated with Gold’s glorious mural works.
Touching down in Australia this week, the street muralist has already decorated the exterior 23-metre wall of Fitzroy Swimming Pool in collaboration with City of Yarra and Montana’s Cans with her signature claw symbol and bold colours and will tackle a wall outside of a Warrnambool Barber Shop, branding our city in New York colour.
