Renowned all over the world for his incredible virtuosity and awe-inspiring original music, William Barton will transport the audience in Hamer Hall to a sonic world, transcending time and space.

Composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and one of Australia’s leading exponents of the didgeridoo William Barton will perform ‘Sky Songs’ at Hamer Hall this July, in what promises to be a powerfully moving musical experience.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

With the ability to hold the awe and attention of audience members around the world, Barton – a proud Kalkadunga man – will be joined by song woman and wordsmith Aunty Dalmae Barton, composer and violin virtuoso, Véronique Serret, and Australian music legend Iva Davies.

These revered musicians will be accompanied and surrounded by the symphonic landscape of John Foreman’s magnificent 60-piece Australian Pops Orchestra.

Coming together for a very special Melbourne premiere event, Barton and his special guests will weave stories that illustrate the ritual relationship of the Indigenous people to the land and culture and mesmerise audiences with their combination of didgeridoo, song, spoken word and orchestra.

Shining a light on the power of indigenous storytelling and music, ‘Sky Songs’ will take you to the deep past, the future, to the majestic Australian landscape and the almost unimaginable wonders of the cosmos.
