Victorian Government Announces Sound Proofing Grants for Venues

The Victorian Government has announced a new grants program to help the state’s music venues to undertake sound management and soundproofing projects.

The initiative, called Good Neighbours, is part of the Andrews Labor Government’s $22 million Music Works initiative to strengthen and support Victoria’s contemporary music sector and offers funding of up to $25,000 to venues across Victoria to help curb sound pollution in the neighbourhood.

The funding could be used for such things as paying for advice from an acoustic consultant or sound technician, to installing various sound proofing aspects to the venue. Good Neighbours has been developed by Creative Victoria in partnership with Music Victoria and Live Music Office and sees a step towards an even brighter future for the live music industry in Victoria.
