Victorian duo This Way North release new single ‘You Be You’

Great news for fans of Melbourne indie pop-rock duo This Way North with the upcoming release of EP Vol. 3, following the acclaimed previous volumes of 2016 and 2018.

Lead single ‘You Be You’ is the first taste of the EP and is a delightful folk-tinged ode to shared space and experience.

Over three years on the road together, Cat Leahy (drums) and Leisha Jungalwalla (electric guitar) have grown to embrace their differences and revel in the joy of discovery, creativity and performance across the globe.

With the pair’s signature light and layered touch, ‘You Be You’ skips affectionately along with a modern pop feel, effortless vocal harmonies and an infectious rhythm full of rapturous nostalgia.

Recorded in Nashville in January – having been invited to showcase at the Folk Alliance International Conference in New Orleans – they enlisted the talents of producer Brad Jones (Skipping Girl Vinegar, Justin Townes Earle, Bob Evans) who set just the right tone to reflect their celebration of artistic affinity.

Named Music Victoria’s Best Regional/Outer Suburban Act in 2018, This Way North have likewise made their mark on stages from Aotearoa to the Yukon. Watch out for more tracks to come.

‘You Be You’ is out now via streaming platforms. Check it out on Spotify or watch the track video below.
