A Triple Threat you won't want to miss.

A tour forged out of mutual artistic appreciation and kinship, three alt-kilter powerhouse Naarm-based musos, V, Maxine Gillon & Ghost Bitch (US) are bringing triple threat to Medusa Bar this Friday.

Taking place within the laneway bar on Friday 16 June, the three bands will come together for a night of new wave, post-punk, alt-rock, dark-wave and non-genre conforming realness, gifting the region that most epic way to cap off the working week.

V is an Australian/English gender non-conforming underground musician, artist and producer, whose music practice was forged in the hardcore and leftist scene in Berlin and later fine-tuned in Narrm. Their 2019 Album So Pure was nominated for a Music Victoria Award, and their music takes heavy influence from synth and new wave, noise, punk and dark-wave. They are known for their dynamic live shows and have toured as V in the EU, the UK, and Australia.

Joining V is Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Maxine Gillon, who has made a name for herself with her lush expansive songs that introject the energy and attitudes of the rich countercultural history of alternative music into a contemporary eclectic form, devoid of any genre constraints or limitations. She is also known for her gutter intellectual lyricism.

Then there’s Ghost Bitch. US based artist Ghost Bitch, currently based in the western hemisphere on sabbatical, has followed the traditional Britney Spears to Rowland S. Howard trajectory; like most suburban-bred “American” girls. It’s her ability to traverse these seemingly incompatible musical spheres while maintaining a reverence for both that lies at the heart of Ghost Bitch’s charm: equal parts bouncing beats and the harrowing expressway to oblivion; a bubblegum Stooges.

Stopping by as part of a regional Victorian tour, the event will kick off at 7:30pm and run until midnight inside the epic venue at 2 Rock O Cashel Lane.
