US cult-favourite burger joint Carl’s Jr has officially opened in Geelong

Carl's Jr Geelong

Expect to find all the favourites from the American burger chain, including chargrilled burgers, natural-cut fries and hand-scooped ice cream milkshakes.

Following a lengthy list of delays and a whole lot of anticipation, the cult-favourite American burger joint Carl’s Jr has finally opened the doors to its very first Geelong venue.

Setting up in the Armstrong Creek Town Centre, surrounded by the likes of Dan Murphys, KFC, McDonald’s and Coles, the fast-food chain — renowned for its monstrous stacked buns — is taking on Geelong’s famously good burger scene with its new store, officially swinging open the doors on Friday, July 8.

Keep up with the latest food and booze news across the region here.

Celebrating its opening by giving away a year’s worth of free food to the first 50 customers (the word is a hungry local even camped on the roof to secure their prize), this new local edition of Carl’s Jr will be dishing up its signature menu of ‘American classics’ – includes their Chargrilled Thickburgers and Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Milkshakes.

Using 100% Aussie beef, indulge in the Famous Star, the Super Star, the Western Bacon Cheeseburger, The Big Carl, or opt for 100% Aussie Angus Beef thickburgers with the double original Angus burger, the guacamole bacon Angus burger, the Portobello Mushroom Angus or the Hawaiian Angus Burger, among others. These babies are packed high and are a force in flavour, making each bun-wrapped treat a delight!

If chicken is more your thing, there’s a number of burgers made with hand-breaded chicken, as well as chicken tenders, or if you prefer veggie the Veggie Star with Cheese is for you. Elsewhere on the menu you’ll find cheeseburgers, waffle fries, natural cut fries, onion rings, star-shaped chicken nuggets, and other delights.

Then, there are breakfast options for the early birds (including a breakfast burger, breaky platter and pancakes), salads for the virtuous and some pretty solid sundaes, ice cream sandwiches and their famed hand-scooped shakes for dessert. Plus, they’ve got bottomless refills when it comes to soft drink. Suss the full menu online!
