URBNSURF Melbourne is reopening this Friday

For most surfers the perfect conditions are but a dream… One that they get to experience once in every hundred surfs, limited by their geography, weather conditions and a lack of time, surfing really can be a tough gig, especially for beginners.

These tough conditions can quickly squash the excitement for surfing, with URBNSURF though, every day is filled with the perfect conditions, and with 1000 perfect waves rolling through every hour and conditions adaptable at the push of a button, there are waves for everyone. From small gentle whitewash for first-timers, to 2-metre barrels for those that can really shred.

Closing temporarily back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, those perfect waves will start rolling in again when the surf park reopens to the public on Friday, June 19.

Consistent with the Victorian Government’s gradual easing of restrictions for sport and recreation (which limit numbers to 20 per separate area for outdoor swimming pools), on re-opening up to 18 surfers will be permitted on each side of the 2 hectare surfing lagoon.

URBNSURF have already recommenced booking for their one hour surfing lessons which will run as normal – including their new Expert and Cruiser sessions – however all surfers will be required to keep at least 1.5 metres apart at all times, including in the lineup.

Unfortunately at this stage only surfing guests will be permitted at the park, and Spectator Passes and Play In The Bay sessions won’t be available for purchase. Don’t stress if you need to hire surfboards and wetsuits as the team will have these cleaned and sanitised between use.
