The café officially opened their doors today.
With three locations, 9 Grams has become a favourite in Geelong for their tasty coffee, all-day breakfast and jaw-dropping brunch creations.
Now the trendy style of their Pakington St, Mt Duneed and Gelong CBD cafes are spreading south, with 9 Grams opening their doors in the coastal town of Torquay.
Taking over the office space on Gilbert Street, 9 Grams is showing that the coast can give Melbourne venues a run for their money when it comes to laid-back brunching, thanks to Ihab Housaiki, a man hailed as being Geelong’s biggest cafe owner.
With the beach located just streets away, 9 Grams café is all about deliciously honest food, in generous amounts, executed well, in a venue that anyone would feel welcome in, just like any coastal visit or local should.
Named for the standard amount of coffee in a single shot – 9 Grams, rest assured you’re in safe caffeine-loving good hands here, especially with the two styles of coffee beans on offer: Bella blend, that is served best with milk and Single Origin coffee from Ethiopia, that is used for short blacks. Actual liquid gold.
Alongside their perfectly brewed coffee, you’ll also find a range of delicious food options. From corn fritters, a brekky burger and an Omelette twist, to Goldilocks porridge, a vegan bowl and a classic avo smash, there’s something for any type of brunch-loving human.
We’re all about a big brekky though and they definitely deliver on that front. Coined the ‘9 Big Brekky’, you get poached eggs, bacon, sauteed spinach, onion, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms and a hashbrown on toasted sourdough. If you feel like mixing it up, they’ve also got a ‘9 Tasting Board’, which features an array of all the best breaky options. Talk about being generous.
And of course, we can’t forget their famed pancakes. We’re talking GIANT pancakes usually drizzled with some sort of delicious sauce, fresh berries and topped off with ice cream. This is every sweet tooth’s dream.
While these guys deliver first and foremost as a top-notch coffee shop, it’s their aesthetic charm that’s captured our eye. All-new interiors that have transformed the space into a bright, minimalist hangout, oozing a cool and contemporary vibe. From the timber tables and panels, bright pendant lighting, lustrous couches, a stunning fireplace and sleek black chairs to park yourself on in readiness for a feast, these guys clearly know how to nail the finishing touches.
