Top Five Regional Beers

Thirsty this summer? We all love a pot of our favourite tap beer, but did you know there are some amazing local brews on offer? we took a look at at 5 of the best.
1 – Prickly Moses’ Chainsaw Wheat Beer
Made from Australian Ella Hop, this one is on the more subtle scale in regards to the malt flavouring but brings it home with a stronger hop flavour.
2 – Southern Bay Brewing Hop Bazooka IPA
The name pretty much gives it away, but this IPA is big on the hops. For those who aren’t a fan of the hoppy flavour, maybe steer clear of this one as it isn’t making any apologies for its strength. Southern Bay Brewing have been mastering beers for a long while now, so give this one a go.
3 – Forrest Brewing’s Silvertop
Perfect for those entering the craft beer world, this Kolsch style, light-bodied ale has an equally light honey malt flavour with some fruity hop aromas thrown in. This is one you could easily drink all night.
4 – Blackman’s Brewery’s Mervyn Pale Ale
Brand new for the brewery, only launching just last week, this one is perfect for those summer days. The fruity, juicy and hoppy number is great for summer and fits the Torquay brewery location well. If only you could take a pint down to the beach with you…
5 – Odyssey Tavern’s Calypso Pale Ale
It’s a favourite at the tavern itself and was heralded as the audience favourite at the Great Australian Beer Festival in 2014. Made with NZ and US hops, it’s a little bit unique and the perfect thing to drink this summer. Ah, refreshing.
