Too Heavy To Hug #665

Welcome to THTH, Forte’s premier source of all things heavy, hard, fast and metal.

The most amusing metal news recently has to do with Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington losing his shit about people calling the band sell outs because apparently two new singles from their to be released album have been described as “adult contemporary”, which to me, means sounds like Celine Dion or KD Lang, I dunno, I haven’t listened to them.

Bennington said to Kerrang Radio “…if you’re gonna be the person who says, like, ‘They made a marketing decision to make this kind of record to make money,’ you can fucking meet me outside and I will punch you in your fucking mouth.”

What’s brilliant about this is Chester has channelled that “cash me ousside how bow dah (you know what I mean)” girl and literally threatened anyone who calls them sell outs. I’m kinda torn about this because I respect Chester’s don’t give a fuck attitude, but I don’t really care for Chester or Linkin Park at all. I think if more metal musicians had Chester’s attitude then the metal world would be a better place. Slayer, for one, should definitely have adopted this attitude when their snowflake fans had tantrums about that Trump insta pic Tom Araya published as a joke.

Hey Chester, listen up: Linkin Park has actively sold out. Linkin Park sold out when they released that god awful Hybrid Theory and has sold out with every subsequent album release since. Follow me on Twitter and we’ll catch up next time you’re in the area.

On a serious and sad note, RIP Chris Cornell. You have been an inspiration to so many musicians that without you’re music genius, heavy metal would not be the way it is now.
