Too Heavy To Hug #672

Welcome to THTH, Forte’s premier source of all things heavy, hard, fast and metal.

First world beggars Ne Obliviscaris (NeO) are running a hardcore pan-handling campaign in the lead up to the release of their new album later this year. Essentially, NeO are offering free digital copies of their new album to their Patreon members and new Patreon members. These members, in case you didn’t know, have pledged to give NeO a certain amount of money each month so NeO band members don’t have to hold down regular jobs whilst being in a band (you know, like most decent people with jobs a bands) and can try to live like the rock stars they so fantasise of being. Since March 2016, NeO have actively been siphoning people’s disposable, charitable incomes that could better go to real causes like Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) for example.

NeO saying they are offering a “free” album download to their Patreon members – people literally giving them money each month – is the most ridiculous spin if ever I’ve seen spin! This album isn’t free for members, it is literally quite possibly the most expensive album these Patreon members may have paid for!
