Toast to the Coast returns for 2022 as reimagined one-day event on the waterfront

Toast To The Coast 2019

As if you need another reason to raise your glass and cheers, this year’s event will offer an exciting format change, with more options to discover Geelong’s world-class wine.

Fancy a glass of wine or two (or more)?

Returning for its 19th year, Toast to the Coast has announced the details of its forthcoming event, promising another amazing summer wine-fuelled paradise early next year.

Usually held over the Melbourne Cup long weekend, this iconic two-day festival is one of the most anticipated events on the local calendar, taking more than 4,000 wine drinkers on a stroll through the Bellarine, Moorabool Valley and Surf Coast regions, showcasing the very best cool-climate wines and gourmet food from the area. While the covid pandemic has forced the event to cancel its usual antics two years in a row, the good humans at Wine Geelong have reimagined Toast to the Coast into a delightful one-day event this February.

The key takeaways

  • Toast To The Coast returns for 2022
  •  Toast to the Coast conveniently brings the region’s finest drops to one iconic Geelong venue
  • Ticket includes entry, all tastings – wine, spirits, beer and cider, live entertainment and Plumm glass to take home.

Building on from the format they offered punters back in 2019 (alongside the usual antics we all know and love), 2022’s Toast To The Coast will conveniently bring the region’s finest drops to one iconic Geelong venue.

Taking to the Pier on Geelong’s Waterfront on Sunday February 6, ‘Sunday At The Pier’ promises to be Geelong’s ultimate one day wine festival, gifting the wine lovers something to look forward to this summer. Including all of the much-loved elements of the traditional Toast festival minus the travelling, you can enjoy more of the region without having to painstakingly choose and instead, spend your day sampling wines from across all three regions, with stunning views of the Geelong waterfront.

For anyone that’s ever missed the bus in previous years or spent the majority of the day at a single location, we’re sure this event will be right up your alley.

Lucky ticket holders will enjoy a taste sensation from 19+ Geelong wineries, two gin distilleries and one brewery with plenty of delicious food on offer and complimented by the smooth tones of live jazz and acoustic bands at The Pier, during either a morning or afternoon session. The morning session will run from 11am-2pm, while the afternoon session will run from 3pm-6pm.

Tickets include an enviable Plumm glass to take home after enjoying free tastings from the regions finest producers. Wine will also be available by the glass or bottle, and attendees should be on the look out for perfect specials to stock your cellar for delivery after the event! This is a perfect way to hand-pick your favourite drops in time for Christmas celebrations.

As always, Toast to the Coast is set to be a sell-out so get in quickly to avoid disappointment and take advantage of the Early Bird offer.

Of course, Wine Geelong will be following the direction of the Chief Health Officer of Victoria in relation to the COVID-19 vaccine requirement for all ticket holders.

For those that don’t want the fun to end, Sailors Rest will be presenting the after-party, where there will be chilled DJ vibes/live music and complimentary finger food on offer for Sunday Toast patrons (simply show your Toast to the Coast ticket on entry).  Soak up the relaxing atmosphere of the rooftop bars and patio with specular bay views and enjoy a fantastic end to the ultimate Sunday session!

You couldn’t ask for a better Sunday in our opinion.
