Time for a roadtrip because every national park in Victoria will reopen from Monday

Where are the car keys!?

From 11:59pm on Sunday May 31, Victorians will be let off the leash. Not only can you start having minny shindigs at home, with 20 people being able to congregate in the one place, including housemates, but every national park in Victoria will open its gates (bar a few exceptions).

It’s time to pack a tent and sleeping bag, fire up your engines and hit the road because not only will you be able to navigate these natural phenomenons for the day but you will be able to stay the night.

With the Queen’s Birthday long weekend just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to plan that much-needed roadtrip. According to Parks Victoria, from the first day of June, you can stay at caravan parks or campgrounds, or in cabins. While communal toilets will be available at campgrounds, other communal facilities such as showers, kitchens and barbecues won’t be.

Happy campers will be asked to exercise the regular social distancing measures and supply all the items they need for personal hygiene.

There are a few exceptions to the rule so to find out which sites will remain closed, head to the Parks Victoria website.
