Ticketek will now offer Afterpay in a world first

Ever since its genesis, Afterpay has been a boon for customers in the retail world. Whether you’re after a new denim jacket, a new toaster or even that electric guitar you’ve been eyeing off, Afterpay is the gateway to making purchases more viable.

Yet it’s never been linked to concert tickets. But now, in a world-first move, Ticketek has teamed up with Afterpay to offer pay plans for all those gigs you’ve been eyeing off in the post-pandemic period.

Live entertainment company TEG confirmed the news today, saying customers will soon be able to pay for tickets in “four equal fortnightly instalments”. When it comes to accessing the service, Afterpay will soon begin popping up on the Ticketek website and apps over the coming months.

“As we work on plans for the safe return of live entertainment in Australia, one of the best things we can offer fans is greater choice in how they secure tickets to future events. Ticketek with Afterpay does just that and we are thrilled to have partnered with Afterpay to offer this world-first to Ticketek fans,” TEG and Ticketek Chief Executive Geoff Jones said in a press statement.

“Now, more than ever, fans need payment choice. Our integration with Afterpay will give fans greater flexibility in how they pay for tickets, while further enhancing the customer experience through frictionless payments technology.”

Keep your eyes peeled as more details come to light in the coming weeks.
