Over the past 18 months, the Covid pandemic has spawned many things: a glorious Victorian anthem (‘get on the beers’), a whole line of merch emblazoned with Victorian Chief Health Officer, Professor Brett Sutton’s mug, groups dedicated to pretending to be the Premier, an abundance of heavily memed moments from the premier’s must-watch COVID press conferences, and one individual even created a viral Facebook event titled ‘Give Dan Andrews A Virtual Hug’ which accumulated more than 100,000 Aussies within a matter of hours.
Well, now one Victorian brewery is encouraging the state to ‘get on the beers’ with a limited edition beer dubbed the Dan AnBrews.

Courtesy of Public Brewing Co, this delightful brew will be released on Tuesday, giving Melburnians in lockdown something to have a giggle about.
Just like Dan, this beer is thankful and grateful to those Victorians who have been following the rules, keeping safe, well and positive during these unprecedented times. This beer encourages lightheartedness, fast and fruitful consumption, but note – social distancing is a must.
Inspired by the press conference setting we’ve all come to know and love have embedded into our memory, this limited edition brew is a piece of memorabilia worth collecting. While those in Melbourne can’t see their mates during this time, that’s for another day, they can surely get on the beers with Dan while at home.
You can pick up this limited run from The Public Brewery bottle shop at 13 Lacey St, Croydon, open from Wednesday to Sunday 12-7pm. Or through the Public Brewing Co.’s website from midday on Tuesday.
