Pottery studio, Hazy Tales is hosting a range of pottery social events & workshops, including a very exciting ‘Clay and Cocktails by Candlelight.’
Handed a drink instantly on arrival, this social ceramic class mixes developing artistic skills with an insanely relaxing night. You get to spend your evening drinking, socialising and walking away with your own piece of art.
The stylish and rustic studio of Hazy Tales is enough to get you in the mood. With floor to ceiling windows letting the light gleam in and polished concrete floors, the space is comfortable and inviting. It’ll having you feeling no less than a professional artist! There are also lounge areas for you to take time out and continue drinking with your friends.
Hosted by Sally Hobson, these classes are her absolute favourite to hold.
“Ceramics are so rewarding and relaxing.
“You can sit and create whilst finding yourself in a state of mindfulness,” explained Sally.
Originally from Yorkshire,UK, Sally studied Photography at University and graduated with a first-class honour’s degree.
“I had only dabbled in pottery as a student 30 years ago, but working in photography made me feel like I was always sat at my computer. So seven years ago I took pottery up again.
“As my love for pottery increased, I knew I wanted to use my photography studio for it!” exclaimed Sally.
Encouraged by a good friend, Sally initially began by running kids’ classes. Soon enough she was holding many more events and workshops including her fun Clay & Cocktail night.
With a burning love for ceramics Sally has also opened up a gallery and shop. Put together by the ‘Bellarine Potters’ which consists of herself and other local potters, the gallery area showcases and sells a range of beautifully handcrafted items, inspired by the beaches of regional Victoria. The unique work, each with a story to be told includes – vases, wall hanging functional wares, garden sculptures & jewellery. So, make sure to check it out and support your local potters!

Tucked away in Drysdale on the Bellarine Peninsula, the Hazy Tales studio is open for all events. There are ongoing classes for adults and kids to learn about various ceramic techniques, you can bring down a private group of your mates or even socialise in a mixed group. Sally also holds hens’ parties and birthdays!
With absolutely no experience is required, failure and broken clay sculptures are warmly invited. Sally wants these classes to be an opportunity to learn different ceramic processes and enjoy a fun evening with friends.
Use it as an excuse to get on the bevs or even hone into your hidden sculpting talent. Either way settle into your chair with a boozy cocktail and get claying!
