There’s a pop-up night market coming to Pakington Street this week showcasing local creatives

When you purchase from small businesses and makers, you’re supporting real people day to day.

When you visit any bustling market in the Geelong region, you’ll be constantly impressed by the emerging creative talent of regional Victoria with the one-of-a-kind artworks, fashion items, collectables, hand-bound books, handcrafted jewellery, meticulously brewed coffee, and so much more on offer. With the added benefit of knowing you’re shopping local, the quality is also pretty top-notch, with most of the markets really determined to help emerging designers, producers and creators gain exposure in a pop-up/retail environment, sourcing talented designers and retailers to showcase their unique products.

If markets really are your thing, then Blank Space‘s night market is a fantastic way for you to spend your Thursday night this week.

The key takeaways

  • Blank Space Cafe is hosting a night market this week
  • The market will feature some of the best local creatives in the region
  • Shop local from 5pm on Thursday, July 21

Now renowned for their vibing night markets, the Newtown cafe will be brought to life this Thursday, July 21, from 5pm to 8pm with a selection of amazing local businesses and talented creatives, including many of those who don’t have their own bricks and mortar stores.

We’re not sure who exactly is rocking up to this Thursday’s edition, but in the past we’ve seen epic art collections from JB Creates, the local business turning pop culture into geometric-inspired art; flash tattoos from Monink Tattoos – a local handpoke tattoo artist specialising in fine lines and custom designs; works from Lowell Hunter  (AKA Salty One Here), a proud Nyul Nyul and Bardi man and local sand artist who carves inspiring formations into the sand using just his feet and elements of traditional dance, before photographing them with a drone; and an extensive range of sneakers from Cooked Kicks.

Other regular stallholders include the beautiful House of Sam, who consciously creates luxe lifestyle accessories; wares from cohen-luxe, a curated online business dedicated to homewares & gifting – with its core centres around glasswares & ceramics based in Torquay; hand created self-care products made with essential oils that help sleep, headaches, anxiety and more from Jade and June Co; and hand-painted pots, handmade trinket trays, garden accessories and home propagated indoor plants from Little Prickle Pots.

Regardless of which local creatives from the region will be there selling their artwork and handmade goodies, we guarantee you’ll find something you love. Plus, the market will also feature great music, a delicious food menu and selected cheap cocktails.

And being a Thursday night, after you’re all marketed out, you can simply go on to explore one of the many fine eateries or bars nearby.

Shop local at Blank Space (4/343 Pakington Street, Newtown) from 5pm – 8pm on Thursday, July 21.
