There’s a Pet Adoption Drive and Christmas Market happening in Geelong this weekend

Finally fill that four-legged hole in your life with a new best friend.

If you’re feeling a little lonely and have been considering a companion (or you want to earn brownie points as best partner ever for Christmas), now might be the perfect time to act.

Hosted in collaboration with Piccadilly Market, there will be a Pet Adoption Drive taking over the gardens at the Geelong Conference Centre, alongside a number of local stallholders for the Geelong Christmas Market.

Teaming up with Pets Haven Animal Shelter – a facility that re-homes orphan cats, kittens dogs and puppies who would otherwise have no future – the adoption drive will be bringing some gorgeous pooches down to potentially meet their forever family. The aim is to encourage people who have been thinking about adding a pet to their fam (and have considered it thoroughly) to make the commitment this week and give these animals a gift of a forever home this Christmas.

The best part is that all pups from Pets Haven are vet checked, desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated and every animal is temperament tested prior to arrival at the shelter, so you know they’re 100% ready to find a forever home.

Alongside the gorgeous doggos, this event also gives locals the chance to finish off their Christmas shopping with a number of stalls, including the Piccadilly General Store (jewellery, clothing, children’s products, gourmet food and ready to go gift hampers), Curious Cabinet (Elixirs and mixers for soda and cocktails), Kissy (handmade accessories), Cover Me Jules beach towels, and Mandy Dollery illustrations.

You’ll also find high-quality and unique pet treats and products from Pure Paws Dog Bakery, handmade children’s and baby products from Funky Rugrats, gifts from Succit Ceramics and candles from Destination Happiness.

If you feel like getting crafty, there’s a special wreath making workshop at midday with the talented Wild Saffron Florist, and there may even be a special appearance from some pals at the North Pole!

There will also be food and drink stalls onsite, including the joy-filled Torquay based cafe Little Things Big Things for all your caffeine needs and Yogurddiction Frozen Yoghurt who will be slinging 100% all-natural, fat-free, soft-serve frozen yogurt that’s oh so addictive!

Pups, local businesses and damn fine coffee, what more could you want from a Saturday?

It all goes down at the Geelong Conference Centre at 20 Adams Court, East Geelong this Saturday, December 19, from 11am to 3pm.
