There’s a new taproom opening in Geelong’s CBD

Bringing fresh beer back to Little Malop Street.

Delighting all the beer aficionados in Geelong, the iconic bar space located in Denny’s Place behind Beav’s Bar will see schooners overflowing with beer once again thanks to a new venture from one of the Surf Coast’s most loved brewing company, Bells Beach Brewing.

Known for their brewery and taproom in Torquay, which has become a real hidden gem on the Surf Coast for great craft beer in the most relaxing of environments over the past few years, the legends have decided to expand their operations and bring a hint of the surf coast to the Geelong CBD.

They’ll be taking over the space previously occupied by Blackman’s Brewery (which closed late last year), and while we don’t have the specifics at this stage, we imagine Bells Beach Brewing will be bringing the goods to the CBD, stocking many of their much-loved brews on tap.

At a glance, their core range boasts a tonne of bold and interesting flavours, including the likes of Bird Rock Brown (coffee brown ale), South Side Saison (Belgian farmhouse ale), Addis Pale Ale (a crispy tropical pale ale), Bells Session Ale (mid-strength session ale), Posso’s IPA (hop-forward brew), Endless Summer Lager (a Germal Helles Style lager) and the Hells Bells XPA, an all-Aussie malt and hop beer brewed in honour of the cancelled 2020 Bells Beach Rip Curl Pro.

Inspired by the surf, the crew regularly brew up special and seasonal releases, and have even started making their own cider.

While the venue is still currently in the works, if their Torquay venue is anything to go by then we are going to be in for a real treat when this coastal hub opens. Expect good vibes, coastal chill and ice-cold beer.

Keep your eyes on their socials and trust that we’ll let you know when you can stop by for a pint.
