As part of the new Victorian Government Music Works package, Association of Artist Managers (AAM) and the Independent Record Label Association (AIR) have come together, with $22 Million worth of government funding, to introduce the Fast Track Fellowships program.
The program is an all new initiative which is designed with the intent of helping Victoria’s local music industry build international networks.
It will see two artist managers and two indie label owners given the opportunity to undertake professional development opportunities at overseas music organisations, for an extended period of time. Amazing, right?
The Minister for Creative Industries said the program was part of a larger strategy, to ultimately strengthen the state’s music industry.
“This program is all about taking our industry to the next level and creating genuine opportunities for international growth. It’s the first program of its kind and we are proud to work with AIR and AAM to make it happen,” he said.
It is hoped the program will set the tone for future trade and simultaneously offer new pathways for artists to break into the international market.
More info on the application process, selection criteria and eligibility is said to be on its way via AIR and AAM in the coming months, so be sure to watch this space.
