Expressions of interest are now open for live music venues, musicians, artists, promoters, event organisers), Community Groups and more.
Earlier this year we received news of a new music festival making its way to Victoria in 2022
Surround Sounds – Geelong & the Bellarine Music Festival is the adventurous new music festival that will strike a major note on the region’s annual cultural calendar, taking to stages across the city, coast and country of Geelong and the Bellarine for three weeks in April and May next year.
Capturing a wide variety of musical styles and experiences, this is your last chance to get involved and spread the word with Expression’s Of Interest closing at 5pm Tuesday 7 December 2021.
Keep up with the latest music tours and festival news here.
The new festival is all part of ‘Geelong Sounds’, a new music initiative of the City of Greater Geelong which will promote our beautiful and thriving region as a place where music is celebrated, supported and happening, putting a spotlight on the music, the people, the places and the spaces of the City of Greater Geelong and the Bellarine.
The large scale festival will kick off on Thursday, April 14 and run through to Sunday, May 8, featuring concerts, workshops, multi-arts collaborations, and exclusive events, designed to deliver a wide variety of musical styles and interests.
Hosting gigs in established venues, to intimate performances in secluded locations, Surround Sounds – Geelong & the Bellarine Music Festival will bring artists, venues and audiences together in a celebration of all things music.
Besides Geelong gaining a new music festival, the best part is that it is all about creating new opportunities for artists, and activating local places and spaces. Expressions of interest are still open for live music venues, arts and cultural venues, other venues including community and business facilities, creative industry (musicians, artists, promoters, event organisers), and Community Groups who have an idea that can be delivered in the City. This extends to locals within the city, and those across the state (or nation for that matter), as long as their idea/project is within the City of Greater Geelong.
Applications close 7 December 2021, with the full festival program released 8 March 2022. For more information and to submit an EOI visit www.surroundsoundsgeelong.com.au
