There’s a boozy ‘Paint-Your-Own-Pet’ art class happening this weekend

Paint a portrait of your own adorable pet at this BYO boozy art class.

By now we imagine you’re all familiar with the basic concept of ‘Paint ‘n Sip’ – those glorious art glasses where a cheeky beverage or three is encouraged to help unleash your inner Picasso.

Well, now the artistic wonders at Pimms and Painting Geelong have changed the game up. In collaboration with local favourite Pure Paws Dog Bakery, they’re revamping the old paint and sip formula to give animals lovers the opportunity to paint portraits of their own pets this weekend – while having a bloody brilliant time in the process.

Taking to the adored Blank Space Cafe on Sunday from 1pm, guests will enjoy two hours under the sage guidance of experienced artist Abby Lee while you get creative on a portrait of your best pal and knock back some brewskies – Pimms cocktails to be exact – while you’re at it.

Every artist level is welcome to come along, with the event providing all the materials and simple instructions they’ll need to create a display-worthy canvas of colour. All you need to bring is a photo of your furry friend. There will even be platters to share throughout the event so no need to stress about getting peckish. Think cheese, crackers, strawberries – all the makings of a booze-sipping wannabe Picasso.

Along with your completed pièce de résistance, you also get to take home a curated gift bag for your pet, filled with vouchers and delicious gourmet treats from the puppy bakery!

Here it’s all about making your own rules, unleashing your inner creative and if you don’t think you’re up for the challenge, think again because you don’t need any experience.

It all goes down at Black Space, Newtown on Sunday April 18 from 1pm. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.
